The President of the Executive Bureau of the Yaounde School of Citizens and Politics ( YSCP) presided the Workshop organised by Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom in Partnership (WILPF) with Network of Female Parliamentarians of Cameroon, under the theme ” The Contribution of Female Parliamentarians in prevention of Conflicts and Consolidation of Peace”
In his keynote address, the President of the Executive Bureau in paraphrasing U Thant stating that ” Wars begin in the minds of men, and in those minds, love and compassion would have built defenses of peace”. Therefore, the prevention of Conflicts begins by building Peace, Love and Compassion in the mind of all citizens through awareness raising and training sessions. It is within this framework that the workshop was aimed at strengthening the capacities of the said Parliamentarians with working tools such as the UNSC resolution 1325 and other related resolutions alongside the UN Agenda on WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY…
The workshop’s resolutions centered on the full engagement of female Parliamentarians on the promotion and Consolidation of Peace in all their activities.
