Members of Parliament of the Cameroon’s Peoples Democratic Movement began meeting in the Congress Hall Yaoundé on the 9th April 2012.
The meeting is to seek a common ground ahead of debates on the country’s electoral code to take place at the National Assembly.
The People’s representatives had some concerns regarding specific articles of the 299 paged document presented to the House.
They are currently getting clarifications before the Assembly meets to debate on the code.
One of the many questions has to do with article 161/4 that stipulates that any parliamentarian who either resigns or, is dismissed from the party automatically losses his seat at the assembly.
The electoral code with ground breaking reforms is being examined in an extra-ordinary session by the constitutional laws committee.
The bill shall be defended by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Emmanuel Sadi of the Assembly.
